Poverty is still a condition of most
artists, but these days we are linked up through the Internet and can
share our work with a minimal of investment. We also have access to
technology that makes quality production cheap and sometimes easy. Most
importantly, we all seek some kind of exposure. In the same tradition as
the PMRBC Volume 1, the PMRBC Vol. 3 is a great way to get your band
some exposure regardless of your talents and ability to record. If you
are interested in contributing to the second volume, please read the
themes and criteria below. We will not accept any signed bands unless
their contracts allow them to contribute their music to projects such as
The Poor Man’s Rock Band Compilation. The bottom line is this: nobody
will be getting any money out of this project, and all proceeds go to
its production (duplication, printing, mailing).
For the time being, we are not in a rush to finish Volume 3 (Volume 2
is still in the final stages of artwork, distribution, and pressing on
to CDs. But here's a brief report of what all has happened so far for Volume 3. As of June 2015, a total of 32 bands have contributed a total of 74 songs for review and ~25 reviewers have produced over 200 reviews. Although not
everyone and certainly not all
